LIGHT

Almighty got it all figured out, set his love upon us all.

We are likened to a man who about to be killed by sword, got lucky and lost just a cap.

After such miracle, he complained about losing his cap, ingrate!

What standards do we follow? God’s or ours?

We have drifted away far, but then, like it’s said,

“When there is life, there is hope.”

How are we faring as a nation? they ask but then the answer is more certain;

Our hair is growing, we’re recovering our strength and His light is our eyes.

Am so touched by love, the miracle in selflessness.

We screamed LIGHT!

And surely i believe, that the LIGHT shall shine.

Not as the sun, or the moon, and am told, there was light before electricity.

The LIGHT that is when neither the sun, moon nor stars are present.

The LIGHT that shines and makes comprehension difficult for them.

Oh sons and daughters of Nigeria, divisiveness holds nothing for us.

There is no shadow is turning, but where should that come from, when Almighty,

in our unfaithfulness is still faithful?

God is my light, my salvation, whom shall I fear?

And it’s written that He’ll look and them from his throne and laugh at the foolishness.

Am yearning for that LIGHT, the LIGHT that makes seeing men blind;

that gives sight to blind men. That LIGHT that was at creation.

The LIGHT that was before the sun and the moon.

The LIGHT from the word of truth.

And let there be LIGHT, and it was.

Scream LIGHT and the LIGHT shall come.
